Call for Board Nominations

Friends of the Cedar River Watershed (FCRW) is soliciting skilled and motivated people who are interested in serving on our Board of Directors. We are a collaborative and resourceful conservation-based organization that offers board members opportunities to support and develop the FCRW mission and donor base, give back to the community and the environment, and provide leadership in conservation efforts related to our regional water supply and water quality issues.

Board Responsibilities

The board meets monthly, alternately in Seattle or on the East side, to provide governance for FCRW operations, fundraising efforts, direction, and public relations/development activities to support our mission. Board members are expected to serve on at least one committee.

Qualifications Desired

FCRW has expanded significantly (programs have more than tripled) over the past three years and requires an increasingly skilled board of directors.  We are recruiting new board members with experience in governance, organizational development, fundraising and finance, major donor development, and public relations and marketing.  Previous board experience is desired, but not required.

Process

Interview with current Board of Directors President and Executive Director, attend one board meeting, and submit new board member application.
