Volunteer Habitat Restoration

The Volunteer Habitat Restoration Program engages youth and adult volunteers in hands-on restoration activities in the Cedar River-Lake Washington Watershed. Volunteer activities include the removal of invasive species and weed suppression, planting of native plants, irrigation installation, watering, weeding, and mulching newly planted natives, and continual management adopt-a-site restorations. Watershed Report

Narrated entirely by local high school students, and updated annually, the Watershed Report is an award winning series of short films that track positive sustainability trends in the 13 school districts and 28 cities of the greater Lake Washington Watershed. Every teacher in middle school and high school will want to use these inspiring data narratives plus the Local Living Textbook resources we are developing to support the integration of systems thinking, sustainability education standards. Stewardship in Action

Stewardship in Action is a partnership designed to assist landowners in the Renton and Maple Valley area to remove invasive plant species and replant with native trees and shrubs.
